“In 2018 I photographed Odessa as part of my project, I Know How Furiously Your Heart is Beating. All of these pictures were made in the subjects home. Even if we didn’t speak the same language the domestic location made the sessions feel more intimate. Maria seemed particularly sensitive. I learned later that her heart had recently been broken.”
