Untitled is a triptych taken from the first photoshoot Cindy ever did
for her Head Shots series, created in the lead up to the 2000 Oscars
ceremony. The now-seminal photographic series, which she continued until
2002, sees the artist play various aspiring actors having their
headshots taken in hope of their big break. This trio of limited edition
prints was originally shot on an expired roll of experimental Polaroid
slide film. It is laid out like a projector strip from an old-fashioned
cinema, emphasising the poignant and familiar tale of faded Hollywood
dreams. Until now, Untitled has never been released because Sherman
deemed these portraits “more pretty” than the rest of the series.
Twenty-five years later, the artist shares this hidden gem from her
personal archive, launching in support of the Museum of Cycladic Art.
All works are guaranteed genuine and come with a no-quibble return policy and a gallery COA. Full details at www.feuteu.com/returns
