Overview

Feuteu is delighted to present an online only exhibition with the Italian street photographer, Giacomo Brunelli. Being most well known for his series Animals, Eternal London and New York City, Brunelli's images are are timeless and uncanny, powerful in their ordinariness.

Developing the films himself he prints in a high contrast black and white. People are rarely central to his images, with animals, partial figures, shadows and silhouettes frequently in dimly lit city streets, evoking the chiaroscuro manner of film noir. He has said "Walking is part of my photography. You need to walk to create the chance of finding things that interest you."

His frequently un-settling depictions of familiar, often domesticated, animals question how much we truly understand the animal kingdom and its innate wildness. His work has won the Sony World Photography Award and the Grand Prix Lodz, Poland. He has exhibited widely internationally and his work is part of many public collections.
